He took it home, installed the Epson software and connected the scanner via USB, no joy. I installed XP SP2 for him, the PC was running semi decent. But he scorred an older PC which our IT gave away. He got a new PC with Win8 and somehow has an older scanner (Epson perfection 2450) which he couldn't use with Win8. So this fellow at work (our machinist, nice guy) is not computer expert.
